Bizen Style Gendaito Katana from Okayama

Signed modern Gendaito sword made in Okayama in the Bizen style of sword making. Edo period Higo style fuchi kashira fittings and golden dragon menuki handle ornaments. Unique modern style open work silver sword guard with gold colored accents. Light brown tsuka handle wrap and black urushi on the ray skin handle. Unique reddish brown patterned saya koshirae scabbard. Katana blade is approximately 72.0 cm with a nice sori curvature suitable for Iaito practice and bo-hi groove on both sides to lighten the blade without sacrificing strength. A robust katana that is well balanced and proportioned.
